#4 - Pretend you have just finished reading this book and in 7 sentences, describe your feelings. GO!
I really enjoyed the dynamics between Mona and Gertrude.
They both have a no-nonsense approach to relationships: no mind games, lies, or making assumptions about people.
(We squirrels never lie, which is why I am currently out in the cold for replying, "no, those tail extensions do not make your butt look smaller".)
There are a wide range of emotional moments in this book but, for me, the humorous moments win out.
I love chuckling along when Gertrude becomes embarrassed or Mona says something outrageous.
Mona’s loud and brass personality was fun to discover.
As a lover of fairy tales and all things magical, I can’t wait to write another volume in this series of stand-alone stories.
Mona and company may make some cameos in other books to come!
#5 - Rewrite a major scene in this book, in 7 words. Can be connected as in a sentence or individual.
Mona failed at winning over the centaurs.
#6 - In 7 sentences, tell me what you are writing, or working on, now?
I am in between books right now but not without hundreds of ideas!
My daughter and I are mid-way through the second volume in the Spunky’s Magical Adventures series, a children’s series about an ordinary cat whose adventures are anything but ordinary.
(You should have a squirrel or two in there...just sayin'.)
The story is complete, my daughter is merely finishing up the illustrations and cover.
I have an outline for the next book in the Fluffy Folktales series entitled Beauty and the Beastly Herb Gardener.
This book will be longer and focus more on romance than humor.
I also have an outline for a new middle-grade adventure series about a boy named Scampers.
So many books to write, so little time!
(Maybe I should put an end to the all night parties at the nut house. Too many squirrels are getting distracted.)
